Student Support Services

The WPCS Student Support Services Team is here to support you and your family. The team consists of professional social workers and psychologists and interns from the Center for Social Work Education and Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. We provide an array of services throughout the school year. Your child may participate in these services with your permission. Our staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and are always thinking about fun and creative ways to help your child build skills and reach his/her full potential.

Services are offered in a one on one or small group setting and include:

  • Assertiveness training
  • Building self-esteem
  • Building positive relationships with family and classmates
  • Becoming aware of emotions & developing empathy for others
  • Learning to regulate mood
  • Problem solving/conflict resolution
  • Addressing problem behaviors

Please contact one of the School Social Workers: Anitra Green (5-8) or Ann Hobbs (K-4) or the School Psychologist: Erika Dawkins for more information or to sign your child up for regularly scheduled support in school.
